What happens if the source is down when the sync runs?

The sync logs the error, keeps existing deadlines, and retries the next day. School admin gets a notification if two consecutive runs fail.

Can we add deadlines manually beyond the synced ones?

Yes. School and authority events are added manually and mix with synced deadlines. Auto-synced deadlines are locked for editing (but can be overridden if you document why).

What if we have a deadline the regulator doesn't list?

It's created manually and stays — sync only overwrites dates on deadlines with an official slug. Manual deadlines are never auto-removed.
